I currently learn Arabic at home.. I am taught by a maalim and I have improved a lot.. I just wanted to know, how many in here are currently learning the Arabic language?

I used to learn arabic at home...and a maalim used to come and teach me as well. I had picked it up quite well. However somewhere down the road it stopped...and since there was no one with whom I could converse in Arabic, I lost the hang of it...and saddly now I can only remember and understand a few simple words :(

I also understand that Quranic arabic is different from spoken arabic. I would want to understand the quran in Arabic....and I have heard about some interesting courses to learn Quranic arabic ...anyone have any information about it?

Also I am trying to learn parts of Juz Amma, and I am using an mp3 player which has A-B play playback feature.
This means taht it I choose an A and then a B, and it keeps on repeating it over and over again. I find this very helpful

salaams to u all,
once upon a time i used to learn spoken as well as Qur'anic arabic and was getting better.but however i could not continue and hav not ever since tried to re-learn,as i ahve fogotten alot since then!
There are ma'alims who are available(dar) from Bilal muslim mission who teach very well if u wish to have a private arabic classes. i have heard frm people that there are sites where by you can have the trasnlation ans tafseer to follow up and learn but that surely becomes difficult if one does not have good back ground knowlege of the language!
i wonder if there are online courses available for it.pls let us know if there are any such sites!

Alaykum Salaam Shaina

I also learnt a little...but hardly remember anything :(

Is it possible for you (or anyone else for that matter) to give me contacts of a good maalim. We are about three who are very eager to learn arabic through private classes. But we need a good maalim.

I had come across a site which was teaching arabic....dont remember the address very well. I have a feeling that learning online would not be as effective unless you have someone with you to practice it.

Creative...thats great...which class are you in in Madressa.
