The 2018–20 UEFA European Football Championship, Euro 2020, is scheduled to be the 16th UEFA European Championship, the quadrennial international men's football championship of Europe organised by the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
The tournament, to be held in 11 cities in 11 UEFA countries, was originally scheduled from 12 June to 12 July 2020. The tournament was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Europe and rescheduled for 11 June to 11 July 2021.The tournament will still retain the name "UEFA Euro 2020".
To lessen the load on players due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in case of an outbreak within a team, squad sizes were increased from 23 (used at every European Championship since 2004) to 26. However, the maximum number of players permitted on the match sheet for each tournament fixture will remain 23.
Each nation's squad, which must include three goalkeepers, was submitted at least ten days before the opening match of the tournament (by 1 June 2021). If a player becomes injured or ill severely enough to prevent his participation in the tournament before his team's first match, he can be replaced by another player.However, goalkeepers may still be replaced after his team's first match due to physical incapacity.
