Khadija was the first wife of the Last and the Greatest Messenger of God to mankind - Muhammed Mustafa (may God bless him and his Ahlel-Bayt). When the latter launched the movement called Islam, she won the distinction of being the first Momina and the first Muslima.
Khadija’s life is rich in inspirational material. The most remarkable characteristic in her sainted life, was the invincibility of her Faith in Islam. Her faith was like a rock in a turbulent sea.
The faith of few people was ever put to such rigorous test as the faith of Khadija. Her faith was tested by hunger, thirst, exile and perils to her life and to the lives of her loved ones. In fact, during the first ten years of the career of Islam, her life was an endless series of tests.
Khadija was successful in all the tests. The key to her success in them was her love of God, devotion to her husband, and her commitment to make Islam viable.
Khadija set an example which womanhood in Islam can imitate to the end of time. Women can see in her life how a true believer can make the quality of her life superb and sublime.
