Salaam..
Well once in a while a random thought occurs to us, pertaining maybe to something we have observed n pondered over, or something that may have occurred that set us thinking.. so lets hear those "RaNdOm ThOuGhTs" out loud! Here's one..

Why is it that the last (or almost last) thing we pray for in majalis or any such time of hajat, is that our 12th Imam's reappearance be hastened, or for his (a.s) safety? Why not be the first thing we pray for? Is it added almost as an afterthought? or as a routine? guilt maybe?

alaykis salaaam..
think of it this way, after we cry, our hearts are more pure [reletively] and also Lady Zahra is there and thus when we ask, it comes directly from our hearts.. also we can forget the things that we heard first, but looking at the human mind, you take the last bit most, coz its still fresh in your mind..

also, when ever we do salaah, dua comes after salaah/azaan, not before.. because it is a zeenah [adornment] to the ibadah.. similarly with azaa...

also, according to our aimmah, we see, that everything starts with hamd/praise of Allah [swt] and thus following that tradition, we start of wth Hamd as well.. - for ur own satisfaction - think about Nahjul Balagha or sermons of Lady Zainab in Shaam...

also about the salawaat and bismillah.. i agree that bismillah is that u begin in His name.. but Salwaat is the Act that Allah [swt] Himself performs - "Innallah wa malaikatu yusaluna alan nabi, ya ayyuhal ladheena aamanu salu alayhi wa salimu taslima." so i guess it actually doesnt matter which way, salwaat or bismillah..!!

these are just some analytical and observed theories.. take ur pick! ;) and feel free to criticise or comment!! :)

Here is another one.

Although this is not unique to our community but we have a lot of it for a minority community!

Whenever there is an issue that is being handled in the wrong manner, there will be scores of people pointing & criticizing.

Hardly anyone will take any action about it like using the channels to let those responsible know or taking the issue up himself/herself!

Have you ever thought...

If our worldly being (our body) is soo detailed, systematic, intricately perfect and fanaa at the end of it all; what would our hereafter body be like which is going to last us forever..?

The first 10 days of Mahe Muharram are conducted with such zeal, starting out with a full mosque on the 1st Muharram and by the 10th it is Mashallah overflowing. Azadari is quite at its peak in these 10 days.

But surprisingly and sadly even, on the 11th and 12th, when majalis and matam should be even more, the crowd becomes thinner. Even the degree of our matam goes down; when now is the main time for azadari, after the event has taken place. And especially because of what befell the holy family of the Prophet (saw) after the tragedy.

Ideally, if there is a death in our family or community, we mourn the departed one for the next 10 days without fail. People come to pay their respects to the family and majlises are done for the marhum.

Then why do we stop the majlises for Shuhadae Karbala on the 12th? Why not have continuous majlises till the 20th of Muharram, which marks the 10days of mourning for Imam Husayn (a.s) and the Shuhadae Karbala?

Good question. In India, from the first of Mharram till the 8th of Rabbi, every day ther e is a majlis.

I asked a gujarati guy as well. The same is the case in Bhavnagar, Mahwa and the state of UP.
So I guess its all of India.

There are scores of mehfiles here and it is so organzied that every day there is a mjalis in the mosque and/or in someones mehfil. The majlis notice are given in the mosque (no bureaucratic bs) and all are invited to go.
