There has been lots of finger-pointing on the forum in the past, with people being called wahhabi and what not...So for future reference...and everyone's knowledge...what exactly IS a wahhabi? Who is an ideal muslim? How does a wahhabi deviate from this standard? And please, could we make this a discussion of ideas, not of people. ie no more finger pointing and name-calling.
So here we go...my opinion of what constitutes a wahhabi...The Prophet clearly emphasized the role of the ahlul bayt in the preservation of true Islam. A wahhabi would be one who, like Umar, says "Hasbuna kitabullah (the book of Allah is enough for us)" and disregards the ahlul bayt. For this reason, a wahhabi does not revere the ahlul bayt, considers them normal people and classifies anyone according them the right amount of respect as mushrik.

If Allah assists you, there is none that can overcome you; and if He forsakes you, then who is there that can assist you after Him? And on Allah should the believers rely (Qur'an 3:160)
