Considering Some Ayats of the Qur'an.

Postby Abu Fauzi » 04 Jul 2015, 15:46

Assalam alaikum,
In Ayat 28 of Surat Al-Imran of the Holy Qur'an (3:28), Allah, Azzah Wa Jallah, says:--

"....ALLAH WARNS YOU TO BEWARE OF HIM..." That is beware of His Justice (adl) because the Fire is His justice for the one that disobeys Him, and the Garden (Jannah) is His favour (fadl) to the one who obeys Him. Have you not taken note of the words of the Prophet, (pbuh) , "O You, whose bounty alone is hoped for, and whose justice alone is feared"!?

And on the subject of Hikmah/Wisdom, in Ayat 269 of Surat Baqra (2:269), Allah, Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, says:--

"...AND HE WHO IS GIVEN WISDOM HAS BEEN GIVEN MUCH GOOD."

What is Wisdom? Qatada, may Allah be Merciful to him, said, "Wisdom is understanding the religion of Allah, Mighty and Majestic is He, and following the Messenger of Allah, Sallallahu alaihi Wasallam. And Suddi said: "Wisdom is the intellect (aql); while Rabi Ibn Anas said: "Wisdom is the fear of Allah, Exalted is He. Ibn Umar, R.A, said, "Wisdom is found in 3 things: a clear verse (aya Muhkama), the Sunnah put into practice and a tongue which is articulate with the Qur'an."

And Sahl Ibn Abdullah al-Tustari says that the capital of Wisdom (ra-s al-mal) consists of 3 things: disciplining the lower self (riyadat al-nafs) concerning things which are reprehensible; emptying one's heart of any love for carnal lusts (shahawat); and standing guard over one's heart by warding off [unwarranted] thoughts which occur to it (Khatarat).
