but that is for swimming. there might be unintentional touching in the pool. wat about only being there and not swimming? or watching zanjeer? i think it is allowed as long as the men are covered from navel to knees and the women are not looking lustfully.

Its haraam and not allowed.

Check out the fatwa of our ulemas In the book ''code of ethics for muslim men and women'',
under Section 1 ''Rules related To looking At others'',In the category (C) Women Looking at Non-Mahram Men

C) Women Looking at Non-Mahram Men

45 – Rule: It is haram for women to look at the bodies of non-Mahram men with the exception of the face, hands, and that amount which men normally do not cover. AGKMST

Therefore: It is not a problem for women to look at the hair on the head, the face, the hands up to the wrist, the feet up to the ankle, and the neck of a non-Mahram man with the condition that it is not associated with lust. Thus, women are not allowed to attend sporting tournaments [such as swimming, wrestling, weight lifting, soccer (also known as football in some countries) etc…] in which men do not have proper covering.

46 – Rule: It is haram to look at the arms, chest, or any other part of the body of a non-Mahram man who is wearing inappropriate clothing, such as a short sleeve shirt, or has kept the collar of his shirt open, or is wearing see-through clothing, etc… even if it is without the intention of lust. AGKLMS

P.S note that the initial S stands for the ruling of Ayatullah Sistani[may Almighty grant him a long and healthy life]

I didn't know this! So for women who are working/studying or out in public among the general population, how can they practically apply this? Short sleeves, collar open, shirtless laborers are all so common here.

Does that mean that men are also required to wear long sleeved shirts?

So, swimming in common pools is definitely haraam as it would necessitate a look. Attending soccer matches has been ruled out. What about watching sports/serials/movies on TV/Cinema were inappropriate clothing is rampant?
