This may be of interest to those who have a mobile phone. To check your mobile phone's serial number, key in the following digits on your phone; * # 0 6 #

A fifteen digit code will appear on the screen. This number is ''UNIQUE TO YOU HANDSET''.Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.Should your phone get stolen, you can phone your service provider and give him this code. They will then be able to block your handset, so even if the thief changes the SIM card ,your phone will be totally USELESS.

You probably wont get your mobile back, but at least you will be satisfied to know that whoever stole it, can't USE or SELL it either.

IF everybody did this, there would be no point in stealing mobile phones.[Ref;KNOWLEDGE MAGAZINE ]

Interesting... I knew the IMEI number could be used to block the phone, but I thought that was only for the particular network. Didn't know it made it unusable on other networks also.

Outta curiosity: does anyone know if it makes the phone totally unusable or does it just prevent it from registering onto phone networks? More and more people are using smartphones these days, so the phone would still be useful as a PDA even if only the cell-phone functions were blocked.

Syria is not so free as Tanzania........ In Syria, if you are caught doing one of these below, the goverment of Syria wipe you off from the face of the earth:-
1- Magic, withcraft, spiritualist who makes money with lies.
2- Homosexuality.
3- Robbing and stealing banks or stealing from people or giving a sudden attack on a bank or a money exchange centre as it is done in Tanzania.

In Syria, there are 30% Christians and they live in their respected cities like Jaramana, Laziqieh, e.t.c but even there, there is no theft or stealing because Syrian police is strong but Masha'llah in Tanzania we have fasad (corruption) at its utmost degree and only Allah (swt) can change us IF WE CAN'T LEARN TO CHANGE OURSELVES.
