THE HIDDEN TREASURE
(LADY UMM KULTHUM, daughter of Imam Ali and lady Fatima)

REVIEW: Lady Umm Kulsum (s) was the fourth child born to Imam Ali (a) and Lady Fatima (s). She spent her life serving seven infallibles, and witnessed crucial moments that changed the landscape of Islam forever: from her mother’s sermon about Fadak, to the terrible calamities on the plains of Karbala.

Despite this, her name has been mentioned only occasionally in the books of history. Controversies over her existence and marriage to the second Caliph, Umar al-Khattab, have overshadowed discussions on her noble characteristics, and the crucial role she played in the unfolding of Islamic History.

From the libraries of Damascus to Beirut, Jaffer Ladak has spent three years investigating and evaluating historical resources and scholarly opinions, to piece together what is known about her life.
The hidden treasure is Lady Umm Kulthum’s (s) first published biography. It seeks to address these issues and restore her rightful place in the hearts of those who love the Ahlul Bayt (a).

The author says ‘’The title of his book, The Hidden Treasure, was inspired by the famous statement by Allah (SWT) “I was a hidden treasure; I wanted to be known”1. I felt the saying accurately described her situation in history and more importantly her holy position.

A GLIMPSE INTO THE BOOK: Lady Umm Kulthum (s) was born into the house of prophethood. She was present during the final period of revelation and witnessed the unraveling of the muslim ummah after the death of her grandfather, Prophet Muhammad (s) and the brutal martyrdom of her mother, Lady Fatima (s). She served her brothers Imam Hassan (a) and Imam Hussein(a) especially after the event of Karbala, whilst heavily chained and imprisoned, being a pillar of strength to her elder sister Lady Zainab (s) and nephew Imam Zain-al-Abideen (a)…………..

A fellow community member had it bought from Canada.
It must be available in UK too as the author is from there.
You can order it online on http://www.sunbehindthecloud.com/treasure.html if you have a credit card.
We can also request tabligh bookshop to make it available for us in Dar if possible.Any volunteer for this?
