Salamun Alaykum
Alhaj Shirazbhai Walji,
President of KSI Jamaat of Dar es Salaam

I hereby wish to bring to your notice the following:

One if my children who has now finished her Nursery Education at Al Muntazir Nursery is now expected to proceed to Primary level in the same school.

On processing the enlrollment, I was shocked to be given a bank pay in slip of TShs:450,000/- T/SHS. FOUR HUNDRED AND FIFTY THOUSAND. and that I should first pay this at the bank within 12 days just to reserve the seat for the child.

On further enquiry about the fees and other charges, I was bluntly told to pay this amount first and then -ONLY THEN THE FEES AND OTHER CHARGES WILL BE GIVEN!!

AS AN EMPLOYEE, I WOULD HAVE TO KNOW THE EXPENDITURE IN ADVANCE TO BE ABLE TO BUDGET FOR THIS VERY CRUCIAL FACTOR THAT EDUCATION HAS NOW BECOME. MY ONLY SOURCE OF INCOME IS MY SALARY AND I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TAKE SEVERAL LOANS FROM MY EMPLOYER. IF I TAKE A LOAN FOR THE CHILDS SEAT RESERVATION ONLY, IT WOULD BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR ME TO GET ANOTHER LOAN FOR ANOTHER YEAR - UNTIL I HAVE CLEARED ALL THE OUTSTANDINGS. IF I TAKE A BLIND LOAN WHICH TURNS OUT TO BE TOO TOO SMALL, MY ABILITY TO PAY FEES AND OTHER CHARGES WILL BE CURTAILED. IF I TAKE A LOAN TOO BIG (THE CHANCES ARE VERY SLIM ON THAT) MY ABILITY TO CLOTH, FEED AND ACCOMODATE MYSELF AND MY FAMILY WOULD BE IMPOSIBLE.

Also, please note that I had already paid T/Shs. 300.000/- THREE HUNDRED THOUSAND SHILINGS JUST A YEAR AGO TI GAIN ADMISSION TO THE NURSERY SECTION OF THE SAME SCHOOL. NOW A YEAR LATER I AM AGAIN FORCED TO PAY T/SHS 450.000/- IN ONE LUMP SUM (AND I AM NOT EVEN BEING TOLD FOR WHAT NOR BEING ALLOWED TO PAY IN INSTALMENTS AS BEFORE).

I WONDER IF THIS IS NORMAL PRACTICE ... AND AM HUMBLY SEEKING YOUR VALUABLE ADVISE ABOUT HOW AN EMPLOYEE CAN EDUCATE THE CHILDREN WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY IN OUR COMMUNITY SCHOOL SYSTEM ??

I WONDER IF THE EDUCATION BOARD LEADERSHIP IS AWARE THAT ISLAM AND MORE SO OUR HOLY IMAMS ALWAYS EMPHASISED ON EDUCATION AND BY USING THE HOLY NAME OF THE IMAM OF OUR TIME A.T.F.S. AS THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL, THE EDUCATION BOARD LEADERSHIP WOULD BE HAPPY TO NOTE THAT THE MAJORITY OF THE HOLY IMAMS MUNTAZIR ARE SHUNNING THE SCHOOL AND STUDYING IN OTHER SCHOOLS ??

WOULD YOU AS A CUSTODIAN AND REPRESENTATIVE OF THE HOLY IMAM BE HAPPY WITH THIS ???

Please respond to this promptly as I have limited time to make a decision. This is due to the 12 day deadline IMPOSED BY THE ADMISSION PROCESS SET BY OUR ESTEEMED SCHOOL LEADERSHIP.

Ahsant in advance.

Ahmedhussein F Bandali

(salam)

Can anyone confirm or disprove the above letter as genuine?

Any outcomes.

I wish to pose a question:

Obviously the Al Muntazir schools were created to serve the mission of al Imam. Should we be aiming towards the highest possible quality of knowledge at the lowest possible cost?

Or should we be economically practical and turn education into a cash-cow business like its done elsewhere in the world?

Al-muntazir schools' fees

Salaamun alaikum,

My son has just completed grade 2 and now has received the fees structure of grade 3 being 2,480,000 - clearly stating that the price increase is due to the inflation rate of 10 -15%

Although with 2 children both studying at Al Muntazir, despite the rebate we have to cater for school books - exercise and text, school uniform including sports and PE Emblem, School bus transport.

Inflation rates have struck all over the world that hasn't made an increase in our salary's irrespective of the global financial crisis.

Rebate will lead to an installment of 375,000 per child which adds to 750,000 per month.
Salary drawn if would be 1,000,000 - take home after installment would be 250,000
how do we manage household expenses.

Request the Jamaat and Community elders to give a considerable thought to our situation.

We fail to upgrade ourselves as our resources are totally utilized for our off springs.

I have been following this thread closely as my son is also joining grade 1 Almps.
The queation still is not answered which was originally asked.
1. Why should a community member be asked to pay 450k in such a notice for securing a seat? If u see other community schools, these donations are compulsary for non community members
2. As the brother said when therea an increase in fees the school should express the need to increase the fees. If its inflation, we all are suffering
3. If rebate is given to all community members than we should not go apply for it. It should be automatic in their system. Dont tell me they dont have records. They can have a system in place without making community members feel like its a favour to only some.
4. CBE should have a platform for us to discuss these things in more professional manner than AGM. How many matters can be discussed in AGM. Each committee should only present what their subcommittees have done and achieved.
5. Another increase is expected when child reaches grade 3. We need to know why there are these increases intermittently and what can be done to reduce the cost so that children continue to get education in our community schools where values of ahlul bayt can be mentored.
6. Please dont compare IST with ALMS because IST was opened with different aim and our community achools were opened with different goals. Unless we have a common goal, dont compare the payment nor system of the school.
7. We are a community largest than all. If we support our systems we shall flourish. But than it should beable to cater for all who wish to educate their kids. If we have a community schools that have morals of ahlul bayt and teachings of national guideline than why are our community members not supporting our schools but sending to other schools? We should have open discussion about that and how can we boost our schools to do better.

Salaam alaykum
Just to let you all know that the KSIJ Dar will be holding an AGM on Saturday 11th Jun 2022 at 3pm. During the AGM, usually accounts are presented as well as reports on each of the boards including CBE. I would like to encourage all of us to participate actively so that we can discuss as a community the issues facing Almuntazir and members of the community such as: school fees, short notice of payment demand etc. Whether you have experienced this in the past, or are experiencing it in the present, do come and voice your concerns. As a member of the KSIJ Dar jamaat - it is your RIGHT to speak, ask questions and discuss ideas at the AGM.

again school fees going up now one child primary 4350m and nursery 4250m how we r suppose to pay they will give discount only for Shia 15 percent but still works around 8.6m minus discount 15 percent 1290 =7310m how we r suppose to pay this amount of Money this al Muntazir school think we parents work in bank,

I see ppl who deserve discount r humiliated in Jamat office and r leaving in far areas

but ppl living in Upanga and masaki gets huge discounts from Jamat social committee is this fair?

what should rest us do who don't have that much money should we start home schooling ?

salaries don't go up fees goes up every year ,

every year new admin fees plus 10 percent on that
nursery to primary new admin fee plus enrolmeant fee all plus 10 percent
school feses 15 percent every year now they want till 2026 is this fair

salaam,
I don't understand why these school don't have budget system where they can create limit of pay out, and limit the staff intake and wages
I see admin/account staff going hujj and ziyarat ,and stay in Upanga paying thousands of usd rents
and we over here struggle to pay fees is this fair
our child get sick we don't have money to send them hospital coz these schools,
I think this Jamat and school ppl need to look at these matters seriously and don't know what these chairman doing ,
are they pocketing money ,until they finish their term and return the money so they have business running so their life is easier and successful

i dont understand after each parents paying millions school is running in loss, why cant all accounts kept online to see for everyone where money is going ,

other parents are employed they dont get 15 per rise ,so where should they get money from to send they children to school,

this jamat and head of school staff sit on they acc rooms and having easy life ,and increasing school fees every year, rather then working out a budget on spending.

then they say all shia children should be able to school ,

all i see is favor going on in jamat ,rich ppl get huge discount in school fees while poor ask for some repate gets insultaed

is this they real reality of jamat office and commities
