Salaams I have recently come back from India. I have had urinary Stricture operation. The doctor said for 1 and a half month I should use catheter for dilation purpose. when now I put the catheter it goes half way only and gives me pain. The catheter is a balloon catheter 5.3 mm. why is it not going in further and why pain?

Unfortunately, urethral strictures are known to recur in some cases after surgical treatment (sometimes in half of the patients). What you are describing points very much to the likelihood that a stricture has developed again. I suggest you talk to your surgeon in India and explain him your situation and he can plan a further management for you. You may be asked to redo similar tests as you had done the first time.
