Salaam Alaykum
A situation has been building up with a friend. I would like to know the stand of the law on this situation so as to be able to advice my friend.
A girl and a boy know each other very well and are good friends (from school). They are both in their twenties and working/studying. They like each other and have given some thought to marriage.
They want to enter into mutah contract so as to legalize their relationship and be able to spend more time together. However, if the girl asks her father, his answer will be no. He will either become angry or will disagree saying that if you want get married. Both the boy and girl are not yet ready for marriage as they feel they need to finish their studies and get a little more settled before nikaah.
What does shariah say about this situation and what options do they have. They are both shia.
Thanks
