Kwon O Chul has taken some amazing photos as well of the skies above Kilimanjaro. Here are a few:

As seen on the National Geographic News While an electric-lighted line of mountain climbers snakes toward it, a dazzling fireball (bright meteor) streaks over Tanzania's Mount Kilimanjaro (the summit of Kibo at 5893 meters). Mt. Kilimanjaro is an inactive volcano and the highest mountain in Africa located near the northern border of Tanzania with Kenya. Kwon, O Chul - AstroKorea.com/kwon572

You can see the lights of Moshi in this photo

As seen on National Geographic News this long exposure image, made during a complete night by a custom made panoramic film camera, has captured the startrails around the south celestial pole. The equatorial region is the only place on the Earth that the celestial poles are located right at the horizon. TWAN photographer Kwon O Chul was very close to the equator on high altitude slopes of Mount Kimilmanjaro in Tanzania when shooting this image. Kilimanjaro is an inactive volcano and the highest mountain in Africa. Kwon, O Chul - AstroKorea.com/kwon572

From dark and transparent locations such as high altitude slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro in Africa the Milky Way appears stunningly beautiful in the starry sky, while there is no sign of it in urban skies. The central bulge (the brightest region) of the Milky Way toward the constellation Scorpius and Sagittarius stands high above Kilimanjaro in this view. Kilimanjaro is an inactive volcano and the highest mountain in Africa located near the northern border of Tanzania with Kenya. The summit of Kibo (5893 m) is visible in this image.
