The welfare of all humanity in this world and in the hereafter is in studying and following the pure laws of Islaam.

What is Ahkaam?

The Word Hukm:


Ahkaam is a plural of “Hukm” (حُکم) which means “Judgment” and “Rule”.

Definition of Ahkaam:

Ahkaam is a collection of judgments and rules and it is therefore called: Laws.

Questions:

1. What are Laws for?
Ans. Laws are for the Guidance of all Mankind.

2. Who makes these laws?
Ans. Laws are made and set by our Creator, ‘Allah (s.w.’a).

3. Can we make such laws?
Ans. Man is bound to make mistakes and therefore cannot make laws and will have to follow and abide by the laws of ‘Allah (s.w.’a).

4. How can we receive the laws of ‘Allah (s.w’a)?
Ans. We do not receive the laws of ‘Allah (s.w.’a), only the Prophets received them.

5. Which are the best of laws?
Ans. The only guidance for all humanity are the laws revealed to the last messenger of ‘Allah (s.w.’a), Muhammad Mustafa (s.’a.w.w) for a period of 23 years.

6. Which laws are these?
Ans. These are the laws of the Holy Qur’aan, the Final Book revealed.
