The School of Kerbala
The lesson I learnt in the school called Kerbala,
Where my teacher is none other than Sayyadu Shuhada
He taught me patience and he taught me love,
Patience in times of hardship and love for none but my Lord above.
He taught me, that to forgive is divine,
He taught me to give away the most precious of mine.
He gave away his life to save Islam,
I should learn to live my life for the happiness of my Imam.
His family also taught me lessons I could never forget,
Through their patience and courage shown to each trial they met.
Be it Imam Sajjad (A.S) tied up in chains,
Whose head was bent not through physical, but emotional suffering and pains.
Or then be it Bibi Sakina (A.S) who through her courage she showed,
That she would never let down her father as she had sincerely vowed.
Through Bibi Zainab (a.s) I understood,
To always stand up for the truth, and fight for the good.
Bibi Rubab (a.s) taught me nothing is too great for Islam to sacrfice,
Bibi Fizza (a.s) taught me loyalty and how to be wise.
Not forgettinn Imam Husayn's (a.s) companions, who wre with him through and through,
Never once turning back from him, for their friendship was so very true.
How can I not mention Abbas (a.s), his faithful commander,
or Aliakber (a.s), who was the replica of teh Payghambar (s.a)
Or Qassim (a.s), who represented Imam Hassan (a.s)
And Aun and Muhammed (a.s) who were Bibi Zainab's sons.
I learnt from baby Aliasgher (a.s) too,
Even though he was the youngest, his sacrfice counted too.
All the lessons I have learnt from these personalities,
O my Lord! grant me the tawfiq to carry them out to the best of my ability.
Imam Husayn (a.s) lost all to give Islam back its life,
O my Lord! give me the will to carry on and strife.
For Husayn's (a.s) sacrifice must not go in vain,
O my Lord! let me learn to sacrifice, as there is no gain without any pain.
To all those out theer near and far..
I wecome you to learn in Husayn's (a.s) school - Kerbala..
The above is the poem for the competition.. i cudnt get access to the writers club.. so have posted it here..
